Spicy Tuesday – Black Bean and Avocado Dip for Cinco de Mayo – Cilantro

April 30, 2019

It’s Cinco de Mayo this weekend, and if you’re looking for the perfect dip to take to a picnic or potluck, we have the answer HERE! We love to share the black bean goodness and the yummy creaminess of avocado.

Cilantro is the perfect garnish to this dip! Not only does it add beautiful green flavor, it also adds nutrition, too. It is actually one of the few herbs that acts as a metal detox and will help your body rid some of those metal buildups. This is big since most people are unknowingly exposed to heavy metals on a regular basis. Over time, these toxins can build up in your tissues where they can wreak havoc on the body. Cilantro also supports a heart healthy food plan, can help reduce anxiety, and balance those crazy blood sugars. What a great dip to bring to your Cindo de Mayo party, enjoy!

Black Bean and Avocado Dip

  • 2 Large Garlic Cloves
  • 3 Cups (2 Cans) Black Beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 TB Fresh Lime Juice
  • 2 TB Chopped Cilantro
  • ½ of a Peeled Avocado
  • Sea Salt to Taste

Add the ingredients from the garlic to the avocado to a food processor and blend until smooth. Add salt to taste and garnish with cilantro if desired. Serve with bright crunchy crudité like the peppers and grape tomatoes in the photo.
